The Impact of AR on Marketing Strategies

As AR technology advances, the possibilities for how we interact with reality are limitless. Being at the forefront of immersive experiences this year will be key to increasing customer engagement and elevating brand perception. From enhancing e-commerce experiences to elevating storytelling, brands that embrace AR today will lead tomorrow’s digital frontier.

Revolutionizing Consumer Engagement

WebAR campaigns take consumer interaction to a whole new level, allowing users to engage with products virtually-all without leaving their homes. With WebAR, potential customers experience products in real time, helping them make confident purchase decisions faster.

Several major brands have successfully integrated WebAR into their marketing strategies:

  • IKEA launched a WebAR app that allows users to see how furniture would look in their own homes before purchasing.
  • Pepsi used WebAR for a campaign that brought bus shelter ads to life, surprising users with seemingly real-life scenarios, such as a giant robot peeking down at them.

Augmento's Contribution to Kim? Gallery

Augmento is proud to be part of this evolution, empowering businesses to harness the full potential of AR. Last year, Augmento's WebAR played a role in the art industry, supporting engagement and growth.

Kim? is a dynamic art center dedicated to exploring ideas, gestures, and textures through ever-evolving forms. Since its establishment in 2009, Kim? has been a catalyst for local and global art discourse, fostering creativity through exhibitions, collaborations, talks, performances, and publications.

A landmark moment for Kim? was the 5th edition of Black Market, themed “I Need Your Gaze.” Artist Krista Dzudzilo reimagined the space as an atmospheric, eerie ballroom, setting the stage for an immersive experience that combined a carefully curated art auction with a rich selection of diverse works.

Kim? leveraged the power of augmented reality through the Augmento tool to redefine the guest experience for the Black Market event. This technology allowed attendees to preview featured artworks within their personal spaces, providing a unique and interactive way to connect with the art before the auction. By using AR, guests could assess how each piece might fit into their environment, creating a deeper, more personal engagement with the works.

This forward-thinking approach not only empowered attendees to make confident and informed decisions but also bridged the gap between digital innovation and traditional art auctions. The result was a marked increase in participation and higher bids, making this edition of Black Market the most successful to date.

“Augmento's AR tool has been a game-changer, greatly enhancing and elevating our annual charity auction, Black Market, by allowing attendees to visualize artworks in their own spaces,” says Dārta Purvlīce, Gallery Manager at Kim? Gallery.

By integrating AR technology, Kim? demonstrated its commitment to enhancing accessibility and modernizing the art-collecting experience.
