The structure is designed to change dynamically depending on the time of day. By day, natural light passes through the mosaics, spilling vibrant, colored shadows onto visitors to symbolically invite them into the continuum of cultural practice. By night, internal illumination transforms the entire work into a glowing lantern, which is a traditional Chinese symbol of guidance, reunion, and hope.

The installation features four distinct colored glass mosaics, which include the Chinese Tea Ceremony (representing the family gathering and Confucian ideal of jia), Cantonese Opera, the Dragon Boat Race, and the Lion Dance.
